- 2 slices bread white, whole wheat, or sourdough
- 4 slices bacon cooked until crispy
- 2 leaves lettuce romaine or iceberg
- 2 slices tomato fresh and ripe
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon butter optional, for toasting the bread
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Prepare the Bacon: Cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5–7 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess grease.
Toast the Bread: Spread butter on one side of each bread slice (if toasting). Toast in a skillet or toaster until golden brown.
Assemble the Sandwich: Spread mayonnaise evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Layer the lettuce, tomato slices, and cooked bacon on one slice. Season the tomatoes with salt and black pepper to enhance the flavor.
Complete and Serve: Top with the second slice of bread, cut in half, and serve immediately.
