Ingredients

For the Cuban sliders

  • 1 package Hawaiian sweet rolls 12 connected rolls
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 8 slices Swiss cheese divided
  • 8 ounces thinly sliced deli ham
  • cups cooked roast pork shredded or thinly sliced
  • ½ cup dill pickle chips or thin dill pickle slices patted dry

For the garlic butter topping

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley optional

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray or butter.
  • Keep the Hawaiian rolls connected. Use a long serrated knife to slice the entire slab of rolls horizontally into a top half and a bottom half.
  • Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared baking dish. Spread the yellow mustard evenly over the cut side.
  • Layer 4 slices of Swiss cheese over the mustard. Add the deli ham in an even layer, followed by the cooked roast pork.
  • Arrange the dill pickle slices evenly over the pork. Top with the remaining 4 slices Swiss cheese.
  • Place the top half of the rolls over the filling.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together melted butter, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and optional parsley.
  • Brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
  • Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for 15 minutes, until the cheese begins to melt.
  • Remove the foil and bake for another 5 to 7 minutes, until the tops are golden and the cheese is fully melted.
  • Let the sliders rest for 5 minutes. Cut between the rolls to separate into 12 individual sliders. Serve hot.
