- 1 pound fresh carrots peeled and sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ⅛ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
Wash, peel, and trim the carrots. Slice them into evenly sized rounds or diagonal pieces.
Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Add the brown sugar, water, salt, and black pepper. Stir until the brown sugar begins to dissolve.
Add the sliced carrots and stir well to coat them in the glaze.
Cover the skillet and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the carrots are fork-tender.
Remove the lid and continue cooking for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the liquid reduces and forms a glossy glaze.
Taste and adjust the seasoning if needed.
Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
