Ingredients

  • 16 fresh strawberries washed and thoroughly dried
  • 10 ounces white candy melts or white chocolate chopped
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil optional
  • 32 candy eyes
  • Mini chocolate chips or black icing for mouths optional

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet or large plate with parchment paper.
  • Make sure the strawberries are completely dry. Keep the green tops attached.
  • Place the candy melts or white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 20-second intervals, stirring after each interval, until smooth.
  • Stir in coconut oil if using and if the coating is too thick.
  • Hold each strawberry by the leaves and dip it into the melted white coating. Let excess coating drip off.
  • Place each coated strawberry on parchment paper and immediately add two candy eyes.
  • Add a small mouth with a mini chocolate chip or black icing if desired.
  • Let the coating set at room temperature or chill for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Do not skip drying the strawberries thoroughly. Water can cause white chocolate to seize or prevent the coating from sticking properly.
