25 minutes min
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tablespoons soy sauce low sodium preferred
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar optional
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch + 1 tablespoon water optional, for thickening
- Fresh parsley or green onions for garnish, optional
Prepare the Chicken:
Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Sear the Chicken:
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for 5–6 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F / 74°C). Remove from pan and set aside.
Make the Sauce:
In the same skillet, lower the heat and add minced garlic. Sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant. Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer.
Optional: Thicken the Sauce:
Mix cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Stir the slurry into the sauce and cook for 1–2 minutes until thickened.
Coat the Chicken:
Return the chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Let simmer for another 2–3 minutes to absorb flavor.
Serve and Enjoy:
Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions. Serve hot with rice, steamed vegetables, or mashed potatoes.
