- 1 can 8-count refrigerated large biscuits (e.g., Grands), cut into pieces
- 1 pound breakfast sausage cooked and crumbled
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
Cut the biscuits into small pieces and spread them evenly in the bottom of the baking dish.
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and crumbled; remove and reserve the sausage, leaving some grease in the pan.
Sprinkle the cooked sausage evenly over the biscuit pieces, then top with shredded cheddar cheese.
In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, 1/2 cup milk, salt, and pepper, then pour this mixture evenly over the sausage and biscuits.
To make the gravy, whisk flour into the hot sausage grease over medium heat and cook for 1–2 minutes, then slowly whisk in 2–3 cups milk until smooth and thickened; season with salt and pepper.
Pour the prepared gravy evenly over the entire casserole.
Bake for 35–45 minutes, or until the casserole is puffed, set in the center, and golden on top.
Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
