The Best Brie and Apple Grilled Cheese

chef Laya
This Brie and Apple Grilled Cheese is a delightful twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich. The creamy, melty brie pairs perfectly with the crisp sweetness of apple slices, all tucked between buttery, toasted bread. A touch of honey or Dijon mustard enhances the flavors, making this an irresistible combination of savory and sweet.

Ingrédients

  • 2 slices of sourdough or artisan bread
  • 4 oz Brie cheese sliced
  • ½ apple thinly sliced, preferably Honeycrisp or Granny Smith
  • 1 tbsp butter softened
  • 1 tsp honey or Dijon mustard optional
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon optional, for extra warmth

Instructions

  • Prepare the Bread: Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread. If using honey or Dijon mustard, spread it on the unbuttered side of one slice.
  • Assemble the Sandwich: Layer the Brie cheese and apple slices evenly on the unbuttered side of the bread. Sprinkle a little cinnamon if desired.
  • Grill the Sandwich: Heat a skillet over medium-low heat. Place the sandwich in the pan, buttered side down. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and the Brie is melted.
  • Serve & Enjoy: Remove from heat, let it cool slightly, slice in half, and enjoy warm!
